Throughout the winter months, Just Scuba will be running regular beach clean ups.  The beach clean ups are a necessity to keep our beaches safe and clean.

The majority of people only see the rubbish that gathers on the surface and whilst this is getting worse, underneath the surface is equally as bad. As well as being bad for marine life, in some respects, the rubbish that is on the bottom of the seabed can have far worse consequences on human health than that on the surface. The rubbish on the surface can be seen and therefore avoided but in the sea, it cannot. For people bathing in the sea, there are hidden dangers. Recently, we retrieved broken bottles and other sharp objects from the sea, in as shallow as 2-3 feet of water! These are beaches that are used everyday by families and their children, it doesn’t bare thinking about what the consequences would have been, had the divers from Just Scuba not retrieved these objects and a child then stood on one.

The beach clean ups have been a huge success to date but during the winter months it is essential to conduct them on a more regular basis. The beach clean ups are open to everybody and showing your support will only help the campaign.
