The History Of The Zenobia:

In 1980, 'The Zenobia' set out on her maiden voyage from Malmo.  The Zenobia had onboard a cargo of 104 lorries and different food for the Mediterranean and Middle East Markets, sadly, it was to be her last.

The Swedish roll on roll off ferry ran into problems between Crete and the Greek port of Piraeus where it began taking on water  causing The Zenobia to list to one side.

After a brief stop for repair work in Piraeus, The Zenobia continued her journey on to Syria.  Shortly after The Zenobia had set sail again, it was becoming obvious to her crew that there was a major problem with the computer controling the water pumps.

In June 1980, The Zenobia reached Larnaca harbour but the tilt on the ferry had become to dangerous for it to be moored in the harbour and for safety reasons, The Zenobia was towed 2 klm offshore where over the next few days it began to sink and to this day, the wreck still sits at a depth 42m and attracts divers from all over the world.
